Weekend Warrior

Listen up soldiers!

A bunch of us would like to get back together on Friday night for some old school Battlefield action… probably after 9pm EST… Hopefully many of you will be able to make it, as we have not all gamed together in quite some time.

We’d like to even do some Special Forces action, for those who have the expansion pack…

So sound off troops! We’d like to bring our group back together for a good time…

I thought it was a scam when they sent me a contact through FrontlinesWar.com’s forums, but I guess it was a real person at ABC:

Article [ HERE ]

Maroney, 36, a Jacksonville, Fla. man who has played preview versions of the game, said that he doubted those details would stir any political sentiment among gamers.

“When the fight’s on, obviously everything else loses focus and you focus on keeping yourself alive,” he said.

Maroney said that the game has raised his awareness of oil issues. Still, he said, games are generally an “escape” for players.

I stand corrected. (I think all the pissing and moaning about not having a PC demo brought this, however. YAY whiners!!!)

From http://community.kaosstudios.com:

Many people have been asking and we’re happy to announce that we will be releasing a PC multiplayer demo of Frontlines: Fuel of War on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 1pm EST.

This PC multiplayer demo will be based on the final version of the game and feature an all-new map “Invasion” in addition to the final “Oilfield” map.

We will be posting more information on how to get the demo as well as a list of fixes and changes that have been made since the last beta patch, as we get closer to the release of the demo.

So perhaps there IS hope for a replacement to BF2 for us…
