If you have a CompUSA near you, they are running this deal, and another one on the next better range for $39.99

[ SITE LINK ] $39.99

I picked up an extra set of the $21 ones to bring my rig to 4gb, and will probably be going Vista 64bit this weekend to be able to see the whole 4gb. I am hoping the timings are close to my Crucial Ballistix so that it doesn’t screw things up

EDIT: The $39.99 deal is for FOUR GIGABYTES of memory! I am taking this $21 deal back and getting the 4gb set to bring my rig to 6gb of memory under Vista 64bit.

Question for the [REG]s with newer rigs…

Does anyone have any experience with Vista yet? And namely how well it does with games, and is DX10 as much of a difference as the screenshots make it look? I understand that Vista is a RAM hog, but I haven’t been able to get DX10 to work with my winXP Pro, and I have tried a couple of packages I found that supposedly worked for others.

I was thinking about grabbing another set of Ballistix to jump to 4gb, then grabbing the 64bit version of Vista Home, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had any luck with it. I’ve read boatloads of complaints around, but you always hear more complainers than praisers. I may even buy a matching 8800GTS 640mb and go SLI, if I need to in order to get the detail that I am seeing in these DX10 screenshots.

Help a brutha out boyz…

NOTICE: New Teamspeak server IP address up and rolling…

New teamspeak address:

99.172.159.177:8767

10mbps+ down/1.5mbps up

Still have some work to do with tier2 techs on getting my pings resolved, (they jumped by 20-30ms) so I may need to take my network down for reboots, so it may be a little flaky for the next day or two. If you get dropped, I apologize.

I also received 26″ LCD Widescreen I got an unbelievable deal on @ officemax.com - only $349!! (see other post, for those who are interested) AWESOME picture and clarity, but 5 dead pixels and a large defect dead center of screen, so they are RMAing it back. Will have to wait another week. *sigh*

FYI: UNREAL DEAL on SOYO 26″ LCD widescreen at Officemax.com

ONLY $349!

I was going to buy a 17″ flatpanel to add to my 19″ for my Mac setup, but needed a splitterbox for $250 for dual monitor. Didn’t make sense to buy all that when I could just get this 26″.

Got mine in Friday, and although I had to RMA because of defect in the screen, it was an AWESOME picture and saturation/brightness. Can’t wait to game on it.

Teamspeak server will be down Sunday to maybe Monday…

I have my new Fiber network install scheduled for NEXT Sunday, (Sept. 13th) so the Teamspeak server will be down, probably for the entire day or more.

There will be a new IP address, and I am also looking to do some upgrades to the little Linux server, such as better/quieter cooling fans, etc.

For those within the ATT service areas, Fiber is becoming more and more accessible, so you may want to check your region [ HERE ]. The cost for me was only 5¢ more than 6mbps DSL for the ‘elite’ Fiber @ 6mbps, but I bumped up $10 and will have a 10mbps down/1.5mbps up pipe now. The service is also bundled with TV, and the receiver can ’slingbox’ TV stations to your computers in the house. (watch TV without being in the living room)

I will let you know more about the service once I have it, but for me, I can save $39/mo by dropping the landline I had for the DSL, making it actually cheaper than the setup I had before. (plus some crazy bandwidth           )

Will post the IP once I have it.
